January 2006 - February 2006

With the New Year in full swing, it's time to sort out your finances while you have the chance. This month, we take a second look at the government payments that you'll be entitled to receive once your baby is born and how best to invest them. We've also put together some top tips to ensure that you have everything you need to baby-proof your house before you bring your little one home. We've got news of the next baby-signing event and the latest new store opening. And you could also win a baby-signing DVD - we've got five up for grabs!

If you have any comments or suggestions on how we can improve Baby Matters, we'd love to
hear from you!

In our
last issue, we looked at the government's Child Trust Fund, Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit initiatives. This month, we see how you can make the most of the money that you're entitled to receive. Now that every child born on or after 1st September 2002 is entitled to a Child Trust Fund voucher worth at least £250, it's important that you know how you can put the money to good use.

Babies learn and develop so quickly that it's easy to be taken by surprise when they become mobile. Naturally curious and keen to explore, adventurous babies often seem to be accident magnets. The thought of having your child let loose around the home can fill you with joy or with dread so to make sure it's the former, it's important to be prepared. Whether you're worried about what can happen to your baby or your home, we've got some ideas to help protect them both!

The New Spring 06 collection is now available! We've got new Spring features like ruched bodices and waists, baby doll tops and roll-up/roll-down jersey waists. If you love clothes, you'll love our new collection! The new range is now available online, in the new catalogue and in our shops.

As it's February, we've found some great ideas for a romantic meal this Valentine's Day. We've also got a tasty recipe that's bound to become your family's new favourite dish!
