Knowing what to pack in your hospital bag can be difficult but don't worry - if you forget
something, it can always be brought in for you. To be on the safe side, it's a good idea to have
your bag ready about two weeks before your due date. Even though the hospital will lend you a gown,
packing your own nightdress and other items such as a pillow and towel from home should help you
feel more comfortable.
For you:
- Nightgown and robe
- Underwear, socks and slippers
- Nursing bra and pads
- Toiletries – don't forget lip balm
- Maternity pads
- Massage oil for back ache
- Your own pillow and towels
- Brush or comb and hair clip to keep your hair out of the way during delivery
- Camera or camcorder
- Address book and phone card – you may not be able to use a mobile in the hospital
- Snacks – something to munch on during early stages of labour
- Going home outfit – clothes that you wore during your 6th month will probably fit the best
